UN/EDIFACT ORDERS: Final Outreach Strategy and Information Package (February, 2000)

This report describes how ManTech used the Internet and Web for disseminating information products that were developed as part of the CALS/IDE Purchasing EDI support task. The Web enables ManTech to share documents and work together using on-line forums for discussions related to this task. This document references an "EDIFACT Central" website. Since the date of publication, the site name has been changed to "XML/EDI Central".

PRELIMINARY Test Analysis Report: EDIFACT ORDERS Prototype System (Jan 2000)

This document, Preliminary Test Analysis Report: EDIFACT ORDERS Prototype System, describes ManTech's findings, conclusions, and recommendations resulting from developing this test system, the Purchase Order Demonstration System (PODS). This report represents the third deliverable for Task 3 (Purchasing EDI Support) for the Department of Defense (DoD) Integrated Data Environment (IDE) Program. The initial high-level goal of this task was to coordinate with the Continuous Acquisition and Life-cycle Support (CALS) Industry Steering Group (ISG) to develop a trial test of the United Nations Rules for Electronic Data Interchange For Administration, Commerce and Transport (UN/EDIFACT) ORDERS message within the context of Basic Ordering Agreements (BOAs) and simple delivery orders.

Preliminary Draft Applicability of Using XML for EDI over the Internet A White Paper (Version 3.6)  March 1999 non-CDRL

This white paper introduces the concept and applicability of using the eXtensible Markup Language (XML) for constructing and conducting Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) over the Internet. This white paper specifically addresses the following four questions:

  1. What is XML and how does it work?
  2. What is the applicability of utilizing XML for EDI?
  3. What are the critical success factors for XML/EDI?
  4. What is XML/EDI's applicability to our current CALS tasking?
