EDI (X12 TO UN/EDIFACT) MAPPING CONCEPT PAPER
DESCRIPTION: This paper discusses compatibility issues between ANSI X12 and UN/EDIFACT. This report proposes a methodology, based on the Universal Data Element Framework (UDEF) and ISO 11179 (naming conventions), to explore semantic inequalities between the two EDI standards. An automated software tool (Conveyor) was created to demonstrate how disparities between the two standards could be identified and mapped.
